°ÄÃÅÕý°æ´óÈ«Ãâ·Ñ×ÊÁÏ Medals

°ÄÃÅÕý°æ´óÈ«Ãâ·Ñ×ÊÁÏ awards three medals for outstanding achievements in biochemistry and molecular biology or related sciences to distinguished senior scientists: the Sir Hans Krebs medal, the Theodor Bücher medal and the Datta medal.

The awardees deliver plenary lectures at the °ÄÃÅÕý°æ´óÈ«Ãâ·Ñ×ÊÁÏ Congress, and contribute review articles based on their lectures to The °ÄÃÅÕý°æ´óÈ«Ãâ·Ñ×ÊÁÏ JournalÌý²¹²Ô»åÌý°ÄÃÅÕý°æ´óÈ«Ãâ·Ñ×ÊÁÏ Letters. °ÄÃÅÕý°æ´óÈ«Ãâ·Ñ×ÊÁÏ Diplôme d’Honneur

The °ÄÃÅÕý°æ´óÈ«Ãâ·Ñ×ÊÁÏ Diplôme d’Honneur was instituted on the 10th anniversary of °ÄÃÅÕý°æ´óÈ«Ãâ·Ñ×ÊÁÏ to honour biochemists and molecular biologists who have given outstanding service to °ÄÃÅÕý°æ´óÈ«Ãâ·Ñ×ÊÁÏ, and is awarded at the °ÄÃÅÕý°æ´óÈ«Ãâ·Ñ×ÊÁÏ Congress. Past recipients are listed here.

The Israel Pecht Award

The ‘Israel Pecht Award – °ÄÃÅÕý°æ´óÈ«Ãâ·Ñ×ÊÁÏ recognition award for outstanding contribution to the molecular biosciences community’ was introduced at the 60th anniversary of °ÄÃÅÕý°æ´óÈ«Ãâ·Ñ×ÊÁÏ with the aim of honouring individuals whose remarkable efforts and dedication have greatly enhanced the activities of their respective °ÄÃÅÕý°æ´óÈ«Ãâ·Ñ×ÊÁÏ Constituent Societies and fostered impactful collaboration with °ÄÃÅÕý°æ´óÈ«Ãâ·Ñ×ÊÁÏ. The awardee will receive a certificate and support to attend the °ÄÃÅÕý°æ´óÈ«Ãâ·Ñ×ÊÁÏ Congress, where they will be presented with the award. °ÄÃÅÕý°æ´óÈ«Ãâ·Ñ×ÊÁÏ Press Awards

The °ÄÃÅÕý°æ´óÈ«Ãâ·Ñ×ÊÁÏ Journal Richard Perham Prize and the °ÄÃÅÕý°æ´óÈ«Ãâ·Ñ×ÊÁÏ Letters Award are annual prizes of €5000 awarded by each journal to key author(s) of an outstanding paper published in the journal in the preceding year.

The °ÄÃÅÕý°æ´óÈ«Ãâ·Ñ×ÊÁÏ Open Bio Article Prize is  awarded annually to an early-career researcher who is the first author of an important paper published in °ÄÃÅÕý°æ´óÈ«Ãâ·Ñ×ÊÁÏ Open Bio in the preceding year. The prize is a bursary to allow the winner to attend the next °ÄÃÅÕý°æ´óÈ«Ãâ·Ñ×ÊÁÏ Congress.

°ÄÃÅÕý°æ´óÈ«Ãâ·Ñ×ÊÁÏ | EMBO Women in Science Award

The °ÄÃÅÕý°æ´óÈ«Ãâ·Ñ×ÊÁÏ | EMBO Women in Science Award (a statuette and €10,000) highlights the major contributions made by female scientists to life sciences research. Winners of the award will serve as inspiring role models for future generations of women in science. The award is presented at the annual °ÄÃÅÕý°æ´óÈ«Ãâ·Ñ×ÊÁÏ Congress, where the awardee delivers a special plenary lecture. °ÄÃÅÕý°æ´óÈ«Ãâ·Ñ×ÊÁÏ National Lecture Awards

Established to commemorate the 40th anniversary of °ÄÃÅÕý°æ´óÈ«Ãâ·Ñ×ÊÁÏ, °ÄÃÅÕý°æ´óÈ«Ãâ·Ñ×ÊÁÏ National Lectures Awards recognize the achievements of distinguished scientists with significant international reputations while at the same time enhancing national scientific meetings of °ÄÃÅÕý°æ´óÈ«Ãâ·Ñ×ÊÁÏ Constituent Societies by supporting travel costs for such speakers. Starting from 2015, the °ÄÃÅÕý°æ´óÈ«Ãâ·Ñ×ÊÁÏ National Lecturer will be presented with an engraved glass award at the meeting. °ÄÃÅÕý°æ´óÈ«Ãâ·Ñ×ÊÁÏ Education Award

Launched in the 60th anniversary year of °ÄÃÅÕý°æ´óÈ«Ãâ·Ñ×ÊÁÏ, the °ÄÃÅÕý°æ´óÈ«Ãâ·Ñ×ÊÁÏ Education Award will highlight and honour an educator with a distinguished teaching and training career path in the field of molecular life sciences, and aims also to inspire others in fostering engaging, creative, and transformative educational experiences for students. Exemplary dedication to enhance the quality of student learning and experience along with a track record of applying impactful and innovative approaches in advancing learning and teaching within the realm of molecular life sciences are the main pillars. The awardee will receive a certificate and support to attend the °ÄÃÅÕý°æ´óÈ«Ãâ·Ñ×ÊÁÏ Congress, where they will be presented with the award. °ÄÃÅÕý°æ´óÈ«Ãâ·Ñ×ÊÁÏ Anniversary Prizes

°ÄÃÅÕý°æ´óÈ«Ãâ·Ñ×ÊÁÏ Anniversary Prizes of the Gesellschaft für Biochemie und Molekularbiologie were initiated for the 10th anniversary of °ÄÃÅÕý°æ´óÈ«Ãâ·Ñ×ÊÁÏ by generous capital gifts from Boehringer Mannheim GmbH and Eppendorf AG. They are awarded for outstanding achievements in the field of biochemistry and molecular biology or related sciences. The awardees are selected from researchers under 40 years of age invited to give a lecture at one of the symposia or workshops held during a °ÄÃÅÕý°æ´óÈ«Ãâ·Ñ×ÊÁÏ Congress and who are from within the °ÄÃÅÕý°æ´óÈ«Ãâ·Ñ×ÊÁÏ area but not the Congress host country. The prize administration is managed by both °ÄÃÅÕý°æ´óÈ«Ãâ·Ñ×ÊÁÏ and the Gesellschaft für Biochemie und Molekularbiologie (GBM), and up to two Anniversary Prizes of €2000 and a certificate are awarded each year.
